If there is one thing I’ve noticed after spending some time on Sayo’s blog, “Working Title,” it’s that she’s a woman after my own heart. (more…)

Royalty in Agate
I recently finished this project for my mom’s birthday; technique notes and more photos after the jump.
One of my bracelets, “Cube Crochet”, was recently featured in an Etsy Treasury by theBeadAerie. Check out her beautiful collection, entitled “Redbirds in the Wheatfield”:
It’s an honor to be featured! Be sure to check out her pieces in her shop; they’re pretty spectacular!
And, thus begins my weekly Etsy feature. Could I send you to my favorites? Of course! But this is just way more fun! Click on any of the photos below to visit the items and the shops; these are some of my favorites lately.

I am auctioning off a custom basketweave bracelet for the charity:water Twestival going on around the globe today.
The bidding goes until 4:00 5:15 p.m. EST. Comment on this post, DM me @CreatureofCraft, or e-mail me at creatureofcraft [AT] gmail [DOT] com to place a bid.
The bidding began at $25 and has now reached $38 $43; the winning bidder will receive a consultation in which they will get to choose the colors they would like, and to specify the length of the bracelet. Follow me on Twitter to stay up-to-date on the bidding.
Please take a moment to see what charity:water is all about at charitywater.org
One in six people in the world do not have access to safe, clean drinking water. You can help by donating, or by bidding on my bracelet — getting a custom piece of jewelry and giving someone the gift of clean water? How can you go wrong?
This is my latest project — a necklace for my mom. The base is square-stitched 8o’s in a turtle mix, and the whole top of the necklace varies between small orange to white agate chips, matte lime green beads, and silver seed bead loops:

One fascination I’ve always had is of jewelry that looks like a science project. I had once overheard that glass bead artist Nancy Tobey is often inspired in her work by reading science textbooks. Boston-based Nervous System seems to have the right idea.
And, thus begins a new chapter in the life of a Boston crafter: the long-awaited craft blog.
A Little About Me
I’m a chronic crafter, and while my main sickness is beaded jewelry, I’m often afflicted with illnesses involving knitting needles, glue guns, origami, and styrofoam balls.
This blog is meant not only to document my projects as I invent my way through them, but also to keep my boyfriend from going nuts when I send him five links a day in the category of “look how cool this is!”
And, with that… on to my first real post!
